Poem 2

Rabbity babbity ribbity bit
Lil' rabbit on my bed
Clearly where it sits
Soppy me and be sad

Babbity uppity skippity bat
The bunny's cute, it's true
I hope you are not mad
If it reminds me lots of you

Rabbity battery uppity pop
With black button eyes of two
Hope your love for me nonstop
Cause' I have feelings for you too

p.s. - somebody gave me a handmade rabbit made out of gloves. Yes, the person stitched up the doll personally for me. *sniff*

Hooray for the 200th Entry @ New Fishy Passion

My 200th entry at last! Hip hip hooray! And to celebrate this auspicious number, I went out and bought another betta @ fighting fish for my collection (already have two) and another glass aquarium (already have three glass aquariums and several plastics).

I love these fish. When in fighting mode, the male fish's fins opened up like sails! Colourful and beautiful in motion.
This red betta swims with a blue betta in the same plastic aquarium (with a divider between them). I amuse myself by putting a mirror next to him, and he'll puff up regally.
The new betta. Five times more expensive then the red above. Personally I do not know why he cost a lot more, but he is beautiful. So he got to live in the new glass aquarium alone.
My other goldies. Dwarf goldfishes together with hybrids. I love these small goldfishes! I stole the corals from my sister (who had stolen my Pikachu).

p.s. - eat your heart out Tuck Wai. :P

One Ferret Is Never Enough

I was always wondering when I can have another fuzzy to accompany Kaos, my pet ferret at home. Ferrets are cute, lovable and very very active. My Kaos for instance, always look forward for me to play with him, never bites and would be very bored if left alone for long.

I like male ferrets better, because they are bulkier, bigger than the females. And male ferrets looks more like cats too.

Anyway, this afternoon as I was lazing aroung in the laboratory waiting for students, the guy who gave me Kaos for adoption called. Firstly we talked about my ferret well being, such a responsible breeder he is. Then he asked if I was interested to adopt another male ferret, which is younger than Kaos, who is now 7 months old. He told me that they have 30 ferrets altogether and needed responsible people who know and love ferrets (moi) to care for them.

I jumped to the bait and said yes. Personally I love these fuzzballs and two ferrets is actually better than a lonely one. [Ferrets are so social. Happy ferrets live longer] So my new ferret will arrive this middle of September, somewhat near the Eid.

Will tell Kaos of his new roomie this evening. He'd be delighted to have a friend to brawl with. The cage is big enough for four fuzzies actually.

Ferrets owners / masters will tell you that these mammals are many times better than a cat or a dog in many ways (maybe except the pooping part). And I happily agree with them. :)

Something to think about; Ferrets are the 3rd most popular pets after cats and dogs in the US. But many people do not have any idea how to care for them well enough...

An Outing with My Pet - Ferret Hilton a.k.a. Kaos

I am just back from the night market, with a couple of friends and my ferret. We left Kaos alone in the car as I bought 1.5 kg of gizzard (my fav part of the chicken after the heart) and my friends got some tasty food and drinks for our supper.

We took the foodstuf to a nearby recreational area, spread the food on a bench and took my ferret out from the car for him to roam (on a leash). And as his previous owner told me a long long time ago, a ferret is a chick / kid magnet. Boy, he was right.

Twenty one young boys and six girls touched my ferret tonight. Several more just watched from afar, either too scared or their parents wouldn't allow them to come nearer. And people do ask what animal was it. All of them never heard of a ferret, or its closest domestic cousin, the civet. I predicted that there are only four ferrets in this state. You see, ferrets are VERY costly here. Though they are exteremely cute and lovable, ferrets are not for beginners.

They need a lot of attention. Eat high quality cat food (expensive). Only a very huge cage is suitable. Two or three hours of playtime daily. Etc. A ferret is not a cat or a small dog. Our local vet admitted that he never held one before (so I NEED to pray my Kaos is always healthy).

Cons aside... this little mammal is the BEST pet I ever invested in. He's funny and cuddly, very active and curious. As I talked to my friends, Kaos never tire of sniffing around, padding towards children who were so fascinated with him. He might feel like Paris Hilton, amongst the paparazzi. Ha ha ha ha ha.

This is a very joyful evening for me and Kaos. The only thing that marred my happy feeling was when my friends telling me about a woman and her boyfriend who were walking behind me while I was playing with my ferret. She was the only person among many who made a disgusted face, complete with the "Eeeewww! Eeeewww!" soundtrack. My friends knew if I saw her, I'd spit fire and poison to the ignorant bitch and her poor excuse of a lover, so they kept quiet as the couple walked past behind me. They were right, I'd chase the stupid duo around town if I have to.

Anyway, here's a pic of me and Kaos before we return back. It's good to gloat once in a while, non?

The Sunset and The Chick Magnet

Yesterday evening I went to the beach with a friend to watch the sunset. Haven't been to the beach for quite some time and it was rather peaceful there, although a bit crowded.  Many people who attended the beach were actually patrons to the many seafood restaurants nearby. I was not in any mood for a meal,  even though I love fish very much.

And I bought Kaos along, looking very handsome with his leash. :) Many young people, especially girls approached us and vexing me by asking the same question; "Is that an otter?" People! Surely you have seen otters on the tv, though ferrets and otters are indeed cousins. Oh the price of fame to be paid by having a rare pet (I only knew 3 other ferret masters in Malacca).

While letting Kaos dig the sand to his heart content, my friend and I spent the time chatting, while waiting for the sun to set. It was not going to be a spectacular blood red phenomena (I was hoping) because the weather was indeed rather fair that evening. Well, to the sea to watch the sunset I went, and a sunset I will watch.

The sun looked like a huge yellow pearl, or some expensive bead, or even maybe a Dragonball :) See what I mean about the weather? Not even a cloud in the sky! It was an enjoyable and peaceful visit. Kaos was happy to be at the beach for the first time and I was happy to get some photos for my blog, Flickr and forums.

Oh, and we had lai-chee kang ABC after that. Fantastic taste. (Too dark for a picture)

Adventures of Kiki and Kaos 1

"Oi Boss. How come you got me in this harness and not teh durn cat?" my ferret Pandemonium @ Pandy asked me while I was busy electrocuting myself on the couch (for health sake). "Do you love her more than me, ah?!"

"Nope."

"Then why?" jinggling his bell on the harness by jumping up and down.

"Because I am not a destructive animal like you, and plus, I am litter trained," murmured Kiki from under a couch.

"Oi it's only a bit of poo! Not like teh Boss cannot clean up after me, eh? And have you thunk me a new name yet? You promised me you know," those cute ferretty eyes boring into mine.

"How about Kaos? The original Fifth Horsemen. He left before they became famous and got the Apocalypse gig. Very few people knew about this."

"Wow. Me like teh name very much. Oi Kiki, now you call me Kaos, ok?" the ferret-formerly-known-as-Pandemonium addressed the couch.

"Whateveeeeer."
My ferret Kaos being curious all over my stuff. He is a blur!

The Search Is Over. I Got A Ferret!!!!

Been looking for one for almost 2 and a half years. None was sold in Malacca and the ferrets I saw in KL were either sickly or extravagantly priced (one grand and above). So I amused myself by getting tarantulas, guinea pigs and finally, cats. (Snakes are so slimy and... still. Boring).

So two weeks ago I encountered an adoption advert in Mudah.my and I was pleasantly surprised that the advertisement came from Malacca. I text messaged the person involved and we exchanged messages until I realized that the person and his ferret were in fact in Damansara, more than 200 km away from me. He put the adverts by hoping the ferret will be adopted by somebody from his homestate, when he returns back this Labor's Day, 1st May.

I wanted the ferret. And was very willing to pay the deposit (so he can take the advert off!).

That was two weeks ago.

So yesterday morning, me and my two cronies flew in my Kia to fetch my ferret, two weeks in advance, for reasons I do not wish to bore you with. We visited the place and the friendly couple were nice and we witnessed their love about anything ferret! They even accompany us to my ferret's second vaccination at a local vet clinic.

After saying goodbye to the ferret-wise couple, we visited Ikano Power Centre (ooo I am SO SORRY Aizan! Was thinking of you and your killer pillows as I walked past IKEA). Bought a few ferret stuffs (cannot be found anywhere in Malacca) and after that, immediately zoomed back home.

My ferret is male with sable markings. His name was Lawrence, but I decided to rename him Pandemonium or Pandy for short. This is a really fitting name; he managed to escape his cage the first night at home. Very very playful.
So welcome home Pandy!

p.s. - I gave Araphone I Kakeru to a friend on Wednesday as I cannot cope having three large animals to care. Kiki was a bit sulky, losing Keru - his playmate and was giving me the cold shoulder treatment ever since Keru moved away.

My Mom Goes To Mecca For Umrah Last Night

I drove my mom, my brother, my aunt and her son to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in record time from Alor Gajah, Malacca. My mom was so excited and was adamant that we arrived at the airport early, and as a dutiful son - the command must be obeyed.

My mom told me that the flight to Dhaka (yes, she is taking the longer router, via Bangladesh, thus the cheaper ticket rates) will be boarding at 2.00 am as we entered the terminal at 10.30. She was dead wrong, the flight to Dhaka was at 6.45 am, and 2.00 am was the time agreed for the jemaah umrah to arrive at the airport! Four hours of waiting!!!! I hate waiting. Mother can be so forgetful, but I cannot be angry long with her :)Above is the picture of a Lexus displayed in the terminal. I like this car so much. So shiny.... So if anyone of you have so much money, please get me this car as a present. :) Thanking you in advance.

The stores in the terminal weren't interesting enough and the f**king bookstore (the only kind of shop I can relate to) was closed! The merchandise were for travellers and nothing attracted the little kiddies in me. Foodwise... so bloody expensive (yes cheapskate me). So I walked to McDonald's (because KFC was closed) to have something to eat.

This very embarrassing incident happened to the cashier girl at McD... As I was queuing up at the only opened counter, I was actually fuming with the marked high price of the meals. So you can imagine my thunder-black face when finally face-to-face with her, after like 20 minutes of waiting in line, plus marinating over the highway-robbery of airports.

"Welcome to McDonald's, can I have your order sir?"

"I would like a chocolate shake and two large coffee (for my mom and aunt)"

"The shake kiosk is at the front sir." The girl smiled and pointed at the said place in front.

I slowly turned around... and then turned back facing her.

"But there is nobody there you STUPID girl!" (Yes I actually said this in English)

"Ah err.... ok ok I will go there now." Her face was now ashen.

"Forget about it!" And I stormed out of the building ops, McD furiously (with style).

My other relatives started to arrive at 2.30 am. Above is the pic of my mom (with the red head cover) with her sisters and sister-in-laws.

And this adorable boy is my nephew Dzarif, my sister's second child. His older sister, Dzara was sleeping at home like a log. He seems to prefer me carrying him around than others. :) :)

My sister decided to treat us for a meal and I told her what happened in McD. She was also born sarcastic,"Oooo, let's go and see her again." So we trooped to McD and I sat deliberately in plain sight from the counter. Immediately, another girl just popped up at the dessert kiosk, which was deserted earlier. Well, I was not in the mood for chocolate shake anymore. And the cashier girl had her face down the entire period we were there. Mwa ha ha ha ha!

And this is the pic of the terminal from outside at 3.30 bloody morning. I have a cigarrette in my hand, and surprise surprise, was smoking with it. I found out long ago that after smoking, I will have trouble sleeping. So less sleepy on the drive home, get it?

My mom and brother (I forgot to mention, yes, he went with my mom) checked in at 4.00 am. After another furious racing bout, I broke my own record by 15 minutes.

Selamat Mengerjakan Umrah, Mommy!
