I told him the news that my cousin's ill mother is now at the hospital after a fall. AND he contradicted me by mentioning that I never told him that the mother was ill. THAT flared me up! Do you have to know everything? Do I have to remember everything I told you before?
So I hung up the phone. This was better than verbal attacks that I would regret soon.
Now, here am I typing all this up to vent my anger. I enjoy an argument or two once in a while, to make the blood pumping and hone my intellect - to win. But lately, as I am now older, the confrontations are not as savoury as before. Maybe the quality of my competitors has gone down the drain, or maybe I realized now that sometimes walking away is better than creating storms.
..... I think I'm gonna take a nap. :(

Your friend is a nut. Of all the things he could have said, that was probably the least reasonable. How about, "Oh, that's too bad, did she break something?" or "How's your cousin taking it?" or "Is there anything I can do." What a dipwad.
Cheers,
SLC
I love naps. No matter the reason for one.
Your 'friend' is a loon...

I hate arguing - better to bite your lip and hang up or walk away.
Rock Chef; erm.... wise chef said :)
Yeah, this kind of habit is very irritating indeed. I know how you feel and I don't blame you for cutting the conversation short.
I don't mind a good verbal sparring, especially when it stimulates the mind. But arguing for the sake of arguing and worse, arguing for the sake of arguing at the wrong time would make me want to commit murder.
