I Don't Feel Like Chicken Tonight.
Claypot of Desire
I stopped by a supermarket next to the school to buy some meat (I just got to try some beef stew recipes I saw on tv) and yes, I haven't had lunch at all and it is now only 7.56 pm!
Anyway, I got a kilogram of beef and walked through the kitchen and utensil section... well, because I just love looking at bowls and shiny saucepans, it might be kind of weird, but that's what I do everytime at a store.
And my eyes fell onto a group of claypots displayed under a wreath of post Chinese New Year buntings. I love claypots! To make soup or porridge, those are my choice. The food taste better too, compared to the ones cooked in steel containers. Anyway, I already have two good claypots, but it never hurt to look. Right?
So I held a few, even opened a few boxes to see them better (naturally no one else was interested in them as me). All came in brown boxes, which were common to this type of product of China. But then, there was a few bigger boxes in grey and of course my questing fingers had them deflowered!
Whoa! Totally different make and quality. Shinier too! As I turned one over, 'product of Korea' was painted at the bottom. I decided to buy one, as these Korean claypots might be extinct in a couple of weeks when the rest of the population found out. No harm in buying a third claypot, eh?
So I went to the cashier.... She scanned the beef but the there seemed to be a problem with the claypot registrar. I had to stand next to the counter, waiting for another girl to take my pot and check it with the powers-above at the back of the store. RM 18.90 was the price tagged and to me, it was worth the wait for a wonderful piece of crockery. So I waited, and waited, and waited to the discomfort of the girl cashier I stood next to.
At last after 15 minutes the girl returned with the claypot box, and was genuinely surprised at me, still waiting (I could have gone, because I already paid for my beef). When the cashier ringed the corrected register, it popped RM 8.90.
"Is that right? It was now less by RM 10!" I couldn't believe this because it was even cheaper than the Chinese claypots of lesser quality.
The cashier shrugged and told me I was very lucky to wait for the item.
And after paying, I quickly exited the building before they chose to change their mind about the price ;)
I'll try to post the pic of the pot soon.
What's your favourite item in the kitchen?

What I Did Today (10.30 am to 4.15 pm)
1. Persuaded a friend to accompany me to the city. I live in a town. Main objective was to pay my car loan.PlayStation and Purple Ink
I've been sinking in my own mire of misery since my PlayStation 3 console was sent to the shops for repair. Life is INDEED a bit dull when you don't have your daily dosage of mass killing and level upgrades. So I have returned to my old flame, who I left years ago - computer games. Yep, click click clicking the mouse - building whole nations from the ground up or murdering peasants - whiling the time away. (I am currently playing Dungeon Keeper, the first ever computer game I bought with my own money [1997]. And Simcity 4, when I feel like being a nation father-founder.)I Rarely Loiter Around
Yes, I am someone who don't do crowd browsing and sitting in a cafe and waste the time away. Whenever I go out alone or with friends, I would go to the places I wanted to go, do my things and then go back home straightaway. Star Trekking and "15 kg Iam's Premium Cat Food for RM 193!!"
Oh ok I don't need to shout my pet's purchase aloud but it is really a bargain. My cat, Kiki and her distant cousin, Pandemonium (ferret) literally live on kibble, so I say why not buy their food in bulk (ok, a HUGE bulk). And Kiki is copiously shedding her fur and I am afraid she might not be eating right. Anyway, my Pandy has no objection and eat everything I plunk in his bowl. Buying a superior quality food is an investment I can afford. After all, it's for the two lovely furballs who made me happy on a daily basis.
My First Trip To IKEA
People would gush about how interesting the place is, even though it is so far away from Malacca. I was so close to IKEA last year but decided to turn a blind eye and marched straight to Ikano Power Centre, next to it.Well, yesterday I was actually dragged into the famous store and I hated myself (and my friend) after the whirlwind visit. To make it simpler; I saw so many things I'd like to have, but I had so little money left after buying expensive supplies for my cats. :( To make it even worse... They are having a SALE for most items!
Well... hating myself on an empty stomach is not really rewarding, so we attended the foodcourt next to the bloody fascinating store. I had a chicken leg with ten meat balls and my friend got only a plate of spaghetti for his evil intention to seduce me via shopping. The place was so packed and people were actually waiting for others to finish their meals and get lost. Oh and did I meantion the food was reasonably priced and actually quite good? We had a great time anyway. Someday I'd go to Finland and burn the IKEA HQ there.
