I Love Cats (Just next to Ferrets)

By popular demand (oh ok, only two of you did ask, Technobabe and Choco) I present a slew of cats that had entered my life these past few years. Yes, I am a cat person. Ferrets are feline cousins too (makes them virtually family).

This is Artemis, my male cat back in 2007. He was badly injured by ravening dogs and crawled back home to die in our kitchen. I bought a slingshot and put metal bearings in those canine brains much later :(

Artemis and a couple of nameless cats belonging to my mother. My mom always feed stray cats and they will stick around the house because of that. The cage behind them are for rabbits.
This is Artemis II Kikuraides a.k.a. Kiki a year back, her first day at home from the petshop. I bought her because she was the most docile and playful kitten of the whole lot.
And this is her recent pic. I took this yesterday when I let her out for play. After the death of Artemis, I NEVER let any of my cats roam free around the house anymore.
A maneki neko @ Japanese fortune cat. I had this in my car before I gave it to a friend. The right paw beckons good luck. I also have metal key chains of maneki nekos.
And the most popular cat of all (This side of the planet, right after Garfield) is the blue cat-robot Doraemon of Japan. The franchise have over thousands of animated episodes and the merchandise are super cute. I have a huge (and cute) Doraemon mug in the teacher's lounge, 3 times larger than average. :) I'll take the pic soon.

p.s. - The name Artemis can be used to name both male and female. Some friends argued that it is a girl's name. Apparently they don't read as much as I do :)
Please do ask if you wanna see pics of others.
All pictures were taken by me, except of Doraemon.

Nice pics.....but no offence to u and choco.....I always found cats to be err...cold....sort of simmering with attitude. Jus wanted to know from a cat person....are they as loyal as dogs (im a die hard dog lover!!!)......I mean do they reciprocate ur gestures and stuff??
I kinda always felt them to be distant and kinda having the look of judging u all d time!!!

Vyazz; Actually, your analysis is absolutely correct! Cats have more character than dogs, and they are more independent. They only come to you when they feel like it :) Thus if you have a cat that comes when you beckon, you are a true MASTER!

They mostly love you when you feed them :)

Thanks for the pics!

I am also more of a dog man, but my mom loves cats. She feeds the local cats, stray or not, and always has 3-4 around the house. There are currently 5 kittens under her bed too! Not sure what is going to happen to them, but I hope she finds homes for at least most of them.

I fully sympathise with your revenge - sometimes wish we could get away with similar over here!

Rock Chef; Cats and old ladies (my mom included) are like feet and comfy slippers :)

If you cannot do the pet-murder yourself, hire your local ninjas to get the job done. Kidding!

Artemus was a beautiful cat. Is Kiki a long hair or would call it medium hair? Over here they are designated short hair, medium hair, and long hair. Some people have allergies and the long hair cats are problems for them. Kiki is even prettier a year older. Thanks for sharing the pics.

TechnoBabe; Kiki is medium hair. I wanted a long hair, but after reading that I SHOULD spend an hour each day to comb my long-furry cat, I decided to go for medium.
She's fat and fluffy :)

Funny that. I always thought Artemis sounded masculine.

Nah, my local Ninjas are rubbish!

Awww..Artemis reminds me of my cat. Because of the way he looks into the camera...I could get mine to pose and look here and there and hold the pose! And Kiko has the cutest round head! :)

And hey Vyazz...Cats are no way cold. But yes, they are not blindly loyal either. Mine used to wait up for me without touching his dinner and sit out in the cold balcony with his little head sticking out watching out for the car!

Aizan; I'd name one of my own children Artemis, a boy of course. But I don't have one :)

Rock Chef; Ah, the end of the world is coming when your local branch ninja is rubbish. Where's the quality these days? :)

Choco; It is not easy to snap a cat. They will not cooperate :) The best pics are taken when they are unaware.

Our Stoopid Cats come when called. I think it is the deluded notion that there will be a food reward for doing so.

Cats are all different. We have three of the evil beasties and they are all as different from each other as night is from day and last Thursday....

Awww, cool cats!! I love all animals but have a special fondness for dogs in particular. My dog recently passes away. I really wish animals turned out to be immortal after all. I really miss him.
