The Legendary Bean

I was browsing through some websites and found a video I've never seen of actor Rowan Atkinson, more famously known as Mr Bean. I love this guy, he's a comic genius - and British too :)

In this video he performed all by himself for a huge audience. His timing with the invisible drums was phenomenal. :P

He is a wonder comic, isn't he? He makes me laugh all the time. Great video.

Great video. Would love to know if the drummer was offstage going along with him live, or if it was a prerecorded routine. Either way, great fun to watch.

Great video. Atkins has played drums before, no way he could do that so well without some former experience.

By the way, I think those drums were MIDI, the digital re-creations of real drums. I use them in my music. But the cat isn't in my studio, you know?

TechnoBabe; He got the ability to make people laugh, and forks a lot of money out of it. :)

Casey Freeland; I think it was prerecorded. The effects of the cat and the rolling of the drumsticks gave it out.

James; No matter if he knows how to play or not, it was a fantastic performance which can only be achieved by a lot of training. And that's dedication :)

A cat must be deaf to sleep anywhere near a drum set :)

I thought about that. If it were me creating this production, I'd break it down into 7 or 8 segments. I'd have the sound guy start each segment with a visual cue fom me. That way the routine would never get too far out of synch.

Casey Freeland; You are correct :) You should know about the mechanism of such performance anyway with your experience in radio :)
