Something You Guys Have To Know About How We Roll Here...

Below is the reply to one of the comments made from the previous entry. I just need to fill up the gaping holes abyss of information about how we do things here. Please keep it in mind as Malaysia is a very conservative country and some things you take for granted in your country may not easily exist here (though I am very open for discussion).  My reply might sound like I was angry or somewhat, but that's how I always roll, even in real life :)

We come from different parts of the planets :)
1. What they did was a CAPITAL offense. They SHOULD be expelled from school, but still, we are thinking of their future. Stripping off roles is the LEAST we can do to lessen the humiliation. We are not ogres.

2. Now comes the blaming part... Who is at fault? Schools here made it a point to tell the parents about their troublesome child, before any major move is taken. This GIRL (as you never knew her) had been warned SEVERAL TIMES not to go ANYWHERE near the boy. And of course she wouldn't listen. Her parents did what they could (I will not mention what) but still... a bad seed grows into a bad tree. FYI her parents are normal and functional.

3. Sexual education IS integrated into the syllabus, believe it or not! And we got lessons in Moral, Civic and Religion education to emphasize the do and don't. So imagine the kind of GIRL who is impervious to the MIGHTY ONSLAUGHT of good teaching at school! FYI she was sent several times to meet the counselor.

4. I am not a model child. I am a teacher. And it PAINS me to see nice children ruined by despicable individuals such as she. Never ASSUME we did nothing to prevent such thing to happen.

And we always think about it. (Of course we will never call the girl a slut in her face, but nice is nice, and she isn't).

:)

p.s. - I am not a vulgar person. If I call someone a 'slut', she deserves it because she has the quality of one. Kisses and hugs do not work with many children today. I am a teacher, and I meet hundreds of children everyday - of all shapes, age and level of attitude. We label them all CORRECTLY (well mostly)  :)

Ohk. I obviously need to read up about Malaysia.
And the school I went to; people got expelled for cheating in the exams. And not just expelled, but expelled with "caught cheating in exams" written in bold in their transfer certificates. You can just imagine how difficult it would have been to get admission into any decent school after that! You can also imagine what would have happened if the offense was more grave... So I am generally on the students side whenever I hear about "anything" regarding students.

I still don't like the said term. But hey. Everyone has the right to their own voice on their own blog! Did not mean to offend mate. White flag! :)

It's all good Shadow. If we're not here to express our opinions to each other, what the heck are we doing?

Your explanation is good and clear. You have a lot of responsibility in your role of teacher.

haha..masa2 i sekolah dulu,benda2 ni mcm x exist.being in sports school differs from kebangsaan school.we dunt even have time to date:an eye contact tells we're into each others but the coach always clingying around for us to take next step.all was about training and be famous for being the one who break new records, not famous in a wrong way.so i mmg terkejut to hear what happens to high school students nowdays..but hey, ramzu, try to tackle things smartly as a teacher.sometimes bila kita marah we tend to say not so smart things,so some ppl might have a wrong impression about that..rilex babe..jgn cite byk sgt kat cini about the whole process.nanti ble dah settle u buat wrap out story la..:)

Wow....u sure seem to be coming down heavily on those two. Well, frankly one cant expect everyone to empathise because, I guess different societies have different attitudes to a lotta things.
Like I said even in India, which is known to be conservative, students in school have quite a few flings. Nevertheless its upto the parent or teacher to take appropriate action, depending on the situation.
Problem is rather than morals, I believe students should be advised so has to how their fluctuating hormones can get them into trouble!!!
But like I said in my earlier post, it all depends on how one approaches kids!!!

Choco: :) Being a world apart makes us, well, a world apart in many things. I understand that you care for the children.... me too. But sometimes, we just cannot fix everybody, you know what I mean. That's why I may be a bit harsh in my words because I am so disappointed when these children go over the line (after all our effort to fix them).

nowadays, children tend to be more independent but they walk in a different way because they are lack of guidance from their parents. of course they also lack of religious education.

then teachers will shoulder the burden to carry out responsibility towards their children.anything happens, teachers will be the first person to blame.

Casey Freeland; My thought exactly; given proper words by you!

Ampivia; Yes Madam! I will follow thy suggestion.

Vyazz; Am I too harsh? :P I didn't decide all this you know.

I am someone who follow orders (yeah righhhhhhhtttttt -eyes rolling)

Yeah, girl sounds much better. Thank you.

I just have this bad experience with words associated with promiscuous women i.e. sluts, whores, sundal etc.

It makes me cringe when I hear or read the words.

And it took some internal prodding to type those words out :P

You are doing a good thing - we are losing the fight here, largely because we are afraid to fight properly! Girls as young as 13 get pregnant here with enough regularity to make it almost normal!

Unknown said...

Aizan; I don't normally say those words out loud, because we do have standards :)

So here I am typing those words so people can READ them :P

It's an outlet for me.

Rock Chef; When everybody fights for human rights, this happens.

It is their rights to do this and that. They have the right to have sex under-aged and be pregnant too.

Too much freedom is bad for karma.

"Too much freedom is bad for karma."

I had never thought of it that way, but it is so true!

You teach well, Dragon Teacher!
