No Angels, Only Demons and Tom Hanks

After school I went to watch the much awaited 'Angels and Demons' movie adapted from the book of the person who called himself Dan Brown.

My verdict? It's an a OK film. For you people who had experience both 'The Da Vinci Code' in book and movie, 'Angelina & Brad' ops! 'Angels and Demons' offers the same roller coaster ride of; "Hey look! There's another hint / clue / thing." And then the chase against the clock to get to some location and yes, deja vu; "Hey look! There's another hint / clue / thing."

I am not spoiling the film for you by telling how the plot goes, because it was indeed twisted and rather clever. But hey, as an ardent movie fan, I CAN guess the flow of the story and so many 'I told you so' irked the friend next to me.

The book was set before the event of 'the Da Vinci Code'. But I think 'the Da Vinci Code' is a much better movie than this one. And we gain knowledge what the Vatican City looks like and how a Pope was selected. We are indeed 'Enlightened' = Illuminati. Mwa ha ha ha ha!

p.s. - Don't expect to see any angels or satanic creatures in this movie. But expect demons in human forms.

Well, you've convinced me that I probably don't need to go see this as I didn't see the first one.

Still, it's nice to read what others think of current movies!

Hmm, If you say Da Vinci was better then I am definitely not running to secure the seats!

I havent read Angels and Demons (I Know- just terrible!), and I always prefer to read the book before I see a movie as a rule (broke the rule for Memoirs of a Geisha) but this one I'm positive I will not see until I read the book.

Btw, I also liked Deception Point by Dan Brown, probably one of his less-known books?

ying-ko-5; Its a rather good movie I say. And thanks for commenting on my entry. :)

SSQuo; I like to watch the movie first, and then read the book. So then I can put the faces on the characters and the places will be more vivid.

Vyazz; somebody stole my copy of 'the Da Vinci Code'! I saw the film 1st and then bought the book. Many people say this help to visualize the story.

@ Vyazz
u shudn't say that you are using prints, in public! Beware! Everything's in google's server! Muahahahahha!

@ Shadow
Aww isn't that an awesome poster. But if u say Da Vinci Code was better, i really should have a second thought on buying tickets, or even *ahm* downloading a print!

et; ooo you evil pirate! The movie 'Angels & Demons' is only ok, not awesome. And it still use the da Vinci Code's formula.

Anyway.... Viva Piracy!

Thats an interesting thought. What about the other way around, Create the character in your mind based on your imagination and the description, and then compare it with the screen actor?

Screen actors are limited (from the people on earth) but imagination is infinite. :)

Wait!! Your template has changed too. What is going on???????

Why didn't I get the memo?????

SSQuo; I am the kind of person who cannot put face to any characters I have ever read (unless the front cover has illustrations). And it is more fun that way, mix and match.

I just experiment with colours. That's all.

I saw the trailer for this in the cinema. It started off with the Vatican and the voice over said something like 'As the world waits for a new pope, now is our time to strike' and it flashed on the image of a distorted statue and I thought 'Woah! That looks cool. Something about devils preying on the world while it is between popes' and then I saw it was for angels and demons and I thought 'Oh well.'

Inky; it was only an ok film. We can do better with our "Zombie and Super Zombies" right? :)
